FIND OUT MORE ABOUT FAME

ABOUT

The North Central Alabama Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (NCAL FAME) partners students with industry sponsors while the students are enrolled in classes at Wallace State Community College. The goal is for students to gain valuable employment experience with manufacturing leaders while also completing their Associate’s degree.

How is FAME different from traditional programs?

Over two years, students can earn as much as $33,500, which with planning can cover all of a student’s education expenses. Grants and other forms of financial aid may also be available to assist with a students’ overall college cost. While not guaranteed, there will be opportunities for the sponsor company to hire graduates as full-time employees. Graduates of the FAME Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program will be equipped with the needed skills and experience that many manufacturing companies are actively seeking.

Why should you choose FAME?

FAME AMTs will receive instruction on Professional Behaviors, such as Leadership, Communication, and Teamwork, that will set them apart from others in their field. Additionally, those who successfully complete the AMT program will enter the workforce as an in-demand, multi-skilled technician with training in the following areas:

• Robotics
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
• Motor Controls
• Automation
• OSHA 10
• Industrial Troubleshooting
